A textbook for an introductory university course in computer programming for students with little or no programming experience. It teaches the principles of control structures, object-based programming, various markup languages, and scripting languages. Students completing the course should be prepared for advanced programming courses or elementary programming in industry.
The second edition revises the 2000 first with, among other features, color-coded text similar to that used in modern programming software. The disk contains relevant software.
